With PSG.LGD winning their first series back yesterday, it was time to see if EHOME could match that, as they would have their first series as a new roster at the China Dota2 Pro Cup Season 1 against Phoenix Gaming.

EHOME’s new Dota 2 roster featured a lot of well-known names, such as Song “Sccc” Chun and Jian Wei “xNova” Yap, amongst others – as the new roster went into their first series after the shuffle. With PSG.LGD being victorious yesterday on their return, EHOME would be hoping to match that with what seemed like a rather easy opponent at the China Dota2 Pro Cup. Phoenix Gaming are a completely unknown team which progressed through open qualifiers, and for them, playing against some of the best players in the region would be no easy task. However, with the other open qualifier team of LBZS taking down Invictus Gaming just yesterday, Phoenix would have some hope.

This glimmer of hope is what seemed to clearly fuel the Phoenix Gaming lineup in their difficult series, which they made look like a walk in the park. The team never once let EHOME find their footing as they ripped through the seasoned veterans in only two games, both of which ended in just over half an hour. For EHOME, although a new squad, they would need to significantly up their game before their next series against Vici Gaming in two days. Phoenix would also be getting a day’s break at the event before they come back to face Team MagMa, and possibly stamp their mark as a new team to look out for in the China region.

The China Dota2 Pro Cup still has one more series for today – at the time of writing, VG would be playing their first series back against the latest Royal Never Give Up roster. It will be interesting to see just what all the Chinese roster shuffle changes do to these teams and who can possibly come out on top once we move beyond regional events.
