Dendi and Puppey Reunite to Play at Maincast Autumn Brawl

Team Secret have awesome news to share with the Dota 2 fans. The TI1 winners and runners-up at TI2 and TI3, Clement “Puppey” Ivanov and Danil “Dendi” Ishutin will reunite this week for the Maincast Autumn Brawl.

After they claimed the PVP Esports Championship title this past weekend in Singapore,  Team Secret announced on their twitter that Yeik “MidOne” Nai will take a few days of vacation and will remain in the SEA region, most probably to visit his family and friends from home, while Puppey will call in an old friend to help the team in the Autumn Brawl playoffs.

Today, all the Dota 2 fans hopes became reality, the most legendary duo in the history of Dota2, Puppey and Dendi are going to play together again. It’s been four years straight since Puppey left Natus Vincere. In the post TI4 shuffle, Puppey decided to venture alone and left the black and yellow Ukrainian organization to start his own project, the Team Secret organization we know today. Dendi remained loyal to Na’Vi until very recently. He parted ways with Na’Vi this September, after eight years spent with them. And although a lot of squads shuffled post TI8 and a couple of new teams formed this fall shuffle, Dendi preferred to stay away for a few months from the competitive scene and not join any other team. His free agency came in extremely handy for both Dendi and Team Secret now, who couldn’t find a better mid laner to play with in a tournament organized by Maincast.

Autumn Brawl playoffs will kick off tomorrow, October 10 at 15:00 EEST. Twelve teams are fighting in a single elimination bracket for the championship title. Team Secret, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Virtus.pro and Gambit Esports received direct invites to the playoffs and they will start their run in the second round of matches while eight other teams made it in the second phase of the tournament via group stage eliminatory matches. The reformed Na’Vi is among those eight qualified teams which will make for a very interesting to watch Secret vs Na’Vi matchup, if they ever get to play one against another.

 – Michał “Nisha” Jankowski
 – Danil “Dendi” Ishutin (stand-in)
 – Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg
