Chaos Esports Club featured some of the best players in the South American Dota 2 community alongside some of the best and well-known international talent too. However, now it seems that the team will not move forward with this full roster.
On January 15th 2019, Chaos Esports Club signed the ex-paiN Gaming roster which had been fairing reasonably in the start of the season, coming fourth at ESL One Hamburg 2018 – but failing to make it out of 13th-16th at the Dota 2 Pro Circuit season’s first Major in Kuala Lumpur. Since then, Chaos have been involved in every Major but struggled to make it much further than 9th-12th place. With that in mind, the Tweet below was released a short time ago on the organization’s Twitter account.
In the short video, Chaos General Manager, Jared ‘pandaeg0’ Fletcher explains that the team will be dropping two of their South American players as well as leaving the SA region. It is quite clear that the squad’s results at the currently ongoing MDL Disneyland® Paris Major as well as previous Majors has had a massive influence on this decision. In a post on their website Chaos added that,
We still love our South American fans, but the logistics of operating in Brazil were more difficult than we anticipated, regardless of the situation within the squad.”
The two Brazilians exiting the Chaos roster are Otavio ‘tavo’ Gabriel and Danylo ‘Kingrd’ Nascimento which leaves the roster looking like this:
- William ‘hFn’ Medeiros
- Aliwi ‘w33’ Omar
- Rasmus ‘Misery’ Berth Filipsen
The video does explain that the team will be moving into the European region, due to them not having enough SA players to meet the required quota to participate in SA – however, EU is a completely different territory. The organization will announce the full new roster in the coming weeks – possibly before going into EPICENTER qualifiers.
