It was the debut of the Cloud9 colossus and it seems the giant wasn’t quite strong enough to take down in their FLASHPOINT 2 opener. While certainly not the introduction the team was looking for, it is still very early in this teams life and the Complexity juggernaut had similar early performances.

The side led by Alex “ALEX” McMeekin got off to a rocky start against Dzhami “Jame” Ali and company as the international mix were unable to find their footing on the first map of Inferno. Cloud9’s defense was seemingly an easily jumpable chain fence as stormed off to a first half lead of 12-3 from the attacking side to position themselves nicely on the favorable side. The CIS team gave up only two more rounds in the second half to take the first map dominantly 16-5.

Overpass looked to be a repeat as once again stormed off to an early halftime lead, this time slightly closer at 10-5. The boys in blue weren’t done yet though, managing to bounce back from a pistol round and eco loss to take two in a row before exchanging rounds with their opponents. A streak of four rounds put the team within range at 12-14, but snagged the evasive match point in the following. It looked like things could be heading to overtime as Cloud9 grabbed two more to hit 14 before pulled away in the final round to take the map 16-14 and series 2-0.
