After a relatively brief tenure, Ron “Rambo” Kim has been replaced as coach of Cloud9’s CS:GO division. His replacement is none other than Soham “valens” Chowdhury.
valens had served as the teams coach prior to moving to the Head of Data Science for the organization in March. Rambo replaced him as one of several trials before ultimately being selected to take over the position full-time.
The former and now current head coach shared kind words for the Counter-Strike legend, complimenting his work ethic and “mind for the game.”
Why valens has returned from a very brief stay as the Head of Data Science is unknown, but I’m sure the squad is happy to have him back as he’s received nothing but positive accolades from members of the team both past and present.
Cloud9 will be jumping right into things this month with their new lineup and returning coach as travel to ESL Pro League, DreamHack Masters Dallas, and BLAST pro Series Madrid.
The roster will be looking to showcase the progress made with some time to practice with the latest additions, René “cajunb” Borg and Daniel “vice” Kim.
