Canadian Counter-Strike player Yassine “Subroza”‘ Taoufik is expected to step down from Ghost Gaming’s active roster, according to multiple sources close to the team. At this time Ryan “freakazoid” Abadir is the player most likely to replace Subroza on the lineup.

Subroza has been a member of the Ghost Gaming roster since early 2018, where they fielded a much different squad in comparison to today. The only member of the current lineup that remains from that period is star AWPer Matthew “Wardell” Yu, who joined in late 2017. Some notable results during Subroza’s time with the team include a semi-final appearances at both ZOTAC Cup Masters 2018 and DreamHack Open Atlanta. They narrowly missed the Season 8 ESL Pro League Final Playoffs with a loss against Natus Vincere in the lower bracket finals.

Freakazoid is still officially a member of Swole Patrol although had made his plans known publicly that he planned to move on from the team when his brother, Austin “Cooper-” Abadir, left to join eUnited. Swole Patrol will still retain their ESL Pro League Season 9 slot should freakazoid move on to Ghost Gaming, who also hold a Pro League entry. ESL have announced today that Season 9 will take place entirely offline for the first time in league history, a change that has received tremendous praise from the community.

Ghost Gaming declined to comment upon request.
