Dan “apEX” Madesclaire is stepping away from the action for awhile according to Vitality. The Counter-Strike captain will be sitting out of the remaining BLAST Premier Spring Groups and potentially more the organization has announced.

Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam, the team’s head coach, explained that there are several factors for this decision including “early season announcements and unjustified accusations have been difficult to take, in addition to the current health context, which is still a burden for us as it is for all of you.”

The “unjustified accusations” are in regard to the allegations that Vitality had been stream sniping in matches during their matches against Liquid and Complexity. This was due to a television playing the stream in the background which was spotted on the stream via the player cameras. The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) ended up giving Vitality a $10,000 fine.

“Unfortunately for our captain apEX, personal problems have added to all this,” XTQZZZ said. This has led to the coach making the decision to “give apEX some breathing space during the entire BLAST Premier Spring.” He went on to say that this time off could be “extended if necessary.”
