Three more teams have been eliminated from IEM Katowice, as Ninjas in Pyjamas, TYLOO, and Virtus.pro join Cloud9 and Renegades as the teams watching the rest of the event from home.

NiP went head-to-head with Natus Vincere in their elimination match in which Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev and Egor “flamie” Vasilyev proved way too much to handle. Na’vi made light work of the Swedish side on Mirage, picking up a 16-3 win before closing it out in a more competitive match on Train, 16-10.

100 Thieves would bounce back from a disappointing first series to beat TYLOO 2-0. Inferno and Vertigo would be the teams’ battlegrounds with 100T picking up the maps 16-9 and 16-10 respectively to send the Chinese team home.

MAD Lions, who lost a 2-1 series to Evil Geniuses to end up in the elimination game, would best Virtus.pro 2-1 in a tight series. A narrow 16-14 win on Overpass by MAD Lions would be voided by a 16-7 victory from Virtus.pro to put it all on map three, Dust2. It would be another nailbiter as the game went 29 rounds before the Danish side closed it out and eliminated Virtus.pro.

The three victorious teams will fight for their tournament life again as they continue their run in the lower bracket.
