According to information obtained by VPEsports, Cloud9 have withdrawn from the upcoming week 2 of ECS’ seventh season.
Taking the organizations place will be Bad News Bears. The bears are currently competing in the Mountain Dew League where they sit in sixth place with a record of 9-4. Tonight they will take on Old Guys Club for an opportunity to hit double digits in the win column.
Cloud9 is still in the process of finding a fifth player to field following the end of Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro’s trial with the organization. That move was announced just a day after it was revealed that Robin “Flusha” Rönnquist would be stepping away while Maikil “Golden” Selim makes his return to head the team from the in-game leader role.
It is assumed that Cloud9’s lack of a full-time and stable player in the fifth spot has played a role in this decision as roster change limitations may be at play. This is however not confirmed at this time.
Bad News Bears will be making their debut in ECS season 7 against compLexity. compLexity made it to and fell 2-1 in the week one finals against Rogue.
The current ECS Season 7 week 2 team list is as follows:
- Spacestation Gaming
- Bad News Bears
