Cloud9 is looking to fill their remaining two roster slots with OpTic Gaming players according to a report from Dust2.dk. If recent rumors are true, Cloud9 currently only plan to keep three players from their previous roster. Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke and Jakob “JUGi” Hansen are the two players being targeted by the North American organization.

Just a day after it was revealed that Robin “Flusha” Rönnquist would be stepping away from competitive play for the time being, Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro’s trial with the organization was ended. While Maikil “Golden” Selim makes his return to head the team from the in-game leader role, the recent revelation that Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey would be parting ways with the organization as well pushed their open roster positions to two.

OpTic Gaming has fielded a full Danish lineup for nearly a year, but haven’t been able to make much noise on the big stage.

It is expected that this continuation of their roster struggles has played a role in their decision to pull out of week two of ECS season 7. The organization has been replaced by Bad News Bears in the tournament.

The expected roster should all rumors come to fruition:

  • Maikil “Golden” Selim
  • Timothy “autimatic” Ta
  • William “RUSH” Wierzba
  • Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke
  • Jakob “JUGi” Hansen
