Just a day after reports surfaced in regards to William “draken” Sundin and a potential organization move, it has been made official.

The Swedish AWP wielder has officially made the move to fnatic. The legendary Counter-Strike organization will be using draken in the place for Maikil “Golden” Selim on the roster. The former fnatic in-game leader had his duties to the team cut drastically when former and long-time Ninjas in Pyjamas member, Richard “Xizt” Landström, was brought into the team and assumed the position. Golden will serve as a substitute for the team while he and the organization explore future options according to the official announcement.

Still signed to NiP, draken found himself moved to the bench just weeks ago as the organization elected to bring in  Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson. There was some initial controversy surrounding whether or not the player was fielding offers initially but it appears to be clear now that talks have been had and a deal has been made.

draken shared some words on his transfer in the post:

“I am incredibly proud and happy to be joining Fnatic. I not only look forward to playing with Xizt again – who has proven he can be one of the very best IGLs – but also to playing beside the legends, Krimz, Flusha and JW!

I have had a fantastic time with NiP during which I have learnt an incredible amount and developed personally. But, now, a new chapter begins.”

It is assumed that draken will take a large portion of the AWPing over Jesper “JW” Wecksell who will be free to fill the role during specific setups and circumstances.

fnatic roster:

  • Robin “flusha” Rönnquis
  • Jesper “JW” Wecksell
  • Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson
  • Richard “Xizt” Landström
  • William “draken” Sundin
  • Jimmy “Jumpy” Berndtsson (coach)
