It has been revealed that Damian “daps” Steele will get one last hoorah with the NRG squad before his official departure. daps was benched just two days ago and it was announced shortly after that Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz would be his replacement.
stanislaw had previously spent over a year as part of compLexity. He is, however, ineligible to play in the season 9 finals with NRG and so a request was made of daps and he accepted according to ImAPet in a post to Twitter.
daps had been with the team since early 2017, helping NRG rise to be a North American contender and also make some waves in the international scene. Under his leadership, NRG won IEM Shanghai 2018 and cs_summit 3 and made it to the semifinals of five top tier events. He is currently open to offers according to a post he made regarding NRG’s decision.
The squad will be competing in Group A alongside Astralis and will open up against fnatic. You can check out the full schedule here.
