The Brazilian squad of MIBR have received an invite to the Cathedral of Counter-Strike. ESL One Cologne has added Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo and company to the list of top tier teams attending the event.
MIBR has struggled since they decided to reform the Major-winning squad, however, there was a bright(er) spot at the most recent BLAST Pro Series event. They managed to defeat Cloud9 twice, beat Astralis, and tie the eventual winners of FaZe Clan which is a major success given their recent form.
The event will feature a total of 16 teams, 12 from invites (6 remaining) and four from qualifiers.
The event is scheduled to run from July 5 to 7 at the LANXESS Arena in Germany. A total of 16 teams will be fighting for the lion’s share of the $300,000 prize purse and a trophy from one of the most prestigious events in Counter-Strike.
Last years finalists were both announced prior to MIBR as Na’Vi and BIG look to repeat their runs. With a few more big name teams certainly being looked at, this event should be an amazing chance for rosters to show what they’ve got at the halfway more in 2019.
