In line with North’s rebranding, the organization has also revealed the re-signing of Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye to the Counter-Strike team.
The 21-year-old has been a member of North since 2018 when he shocked the world by leaving Astralis for the project. Astralis has gone on to hold the spot as the best team in the world for a majority of the time since.
North, on the other hand, has struggled to find success. The Danish organization has only managed to take home one tier one victory at DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018. While North has managed to win a few DreamHack Open events around the world, the level of competition at these events pales in comparison to the top tier.
“I am happy to have re-signed my contract with North. North came to me with an ambitious new plan for both the team and the organization. The rebrand looks and feels great, and more importantly, the people in the organization behind us are determined to succeed. All in all, this feels like the perfect home for me.” Kjaerbye said in the official post from North.
