FunPlus Phoenix are seeking the services of Alex “ALEX” McMeekin. According to a report from DBLTAP, the organization is looking to build a new CS:GO roster around the former Vitality in-game leader.

Serving as the in-game leader of Vitality alongside Nathan “NBK” Schmitt throughout 2019 and into the first few months of 2020, ALEX helped guide the majority French lineup to several top finishes. Things had gone, however, with the team dropping through the rankings leading to his departure. ALEX cited burnout as the reason behind his decision. At their peak, Vitality was the No. 2 team in the world via HLTV’s rankings.

This would mean another shift in FunPlus Phoenix’s team in Counter-Strike as they’ve already fielded two teams during their brief time with the title. During the FLASHPOINT 1 season the organization fielding the Danish roster of Heroic although that deal was never fully completed and would fall through in the end. Next up was Bad News Bears who were brought in after the Swole Patrol lineups deal fell through as well.

ALEX has been a highly sought after in-game leader over recent months although a $600,000 buyout from Vitality has deterred many potential suitors.
