Evil Geniuses have claimed the ultimate victory in Belek, Turkey with a 2-0 win over fnatic in the grand finals of StarSeries i-League Season 8.
Big performances out of Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte, Ethan “Ethan” Arnold, and Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov helped to propel the North American side to a triumph over their Swedish opponents. Brehze finished with a +24 kill-to-death record alongside a ridiculous 115.9 average damage per round across the series. he was followed in ADR by Ethan who dealt 90.9 throughout the match.
fnatic had defeated FURIA in a close series earlier in the day before carrying over some of that momentum to help guide them to a 10-5 half time lead on EG’s pick of Dust2. The second half kicked off well for Brehze and company as they gave up only one round on their way to tie things up at 11-11. A big round out of Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin put gave fnatic their final round of the match as they fell 16-12.
Another halftime lead showed promise for fnatic as they moved into the CT side of Mirage. Things on the defense didn’t go so well though and they would lose 10 consecutive rounds on their way to a 16-9 loss and a runner up finish in Belek.
