ESL has revealed details on its next Intel Extreme Masters event. IEM Beijing will be the “first time that IEM is hosted in a standalone location in China, establishing IEM as a next-level tournament in China” according to the official announcement.

A total of eight teams will be competing in Beijing with five receiving direct invites and three others going to those who come out on top of a China, Asia, and Europe qualifier.

The $250,000 event will be accessible to fans from the semifinals onward which will be played at the Baijing University Students’ Gymnasium for all to view. Fans can watch the event live and in person from November 8th to 9th.

The tournament organizer revealed two teams as already set to attend in the form of Liquid and Astralis, two of the worlds best teams.

IEM Beijing will give Liquid a chance to continue racking up points toward a second Intel Grand Slam following the recent rule change thanks in part to their quick run of success.
