It hasn’t been long since Nick “nitr0” Cannella hit the market and now it seems he’s being courted by teams outside of Counter-Strike. The former Team Liquid in-game leader, AWPer, and entry fragger is currently in “deep discussion” with 100 Thieves according to ESPN.
This comes just days after it was reported that he was “in the process of transferring to become a pro player in VALORANT” and that several professional teams were “looking to make him a full-time starter on their VALORANT roster.”
Out of those teams it seems 100 Thieves has set itself apart. With an estimated salary of somewhere between $250,000 and $350,000, the report states that not only is 100 Thieves offering the best financial package, but also additional things other organizations can’t such as freedom to change up the roster.
nitr0’s addition would be a bit of a reunion as he’d join Spencer “Hiko” Martin who was signed as the first member and captain of 100 Thieves. The two played together from 2015-2017 on Team Liquid.
During his time with Liquid in 2019 the North American side earned the title of #1 team in the world and earned a Intel Grand Slam victory in Season 2 in just 63 days. During their run to hit #1 and maintain it, Liquid was filling up their trophy case quick. nitr0 spent a total of 5 years with the organization.
Is nitr0 the right pick for 100 Thieves? Thoughts?
