Cloud9 has officially released Özgür “woxic” Eker after a relatively brief time as a member of the organization. Just three months after his signing as part of the “colossus” woxic is out of the team.
Henry “HenryG” Greer, Cloud9 CS:GO’s General Manager provided some insight into the decision, stating that “this decision may come as a shock to many of the fans but allowing this to continue wouldn’t have been in the best interest of the squad in the long run. This was a team decision, not one we take lightly and we believe it to be the correct one.”
Earlier in the same post he explained that despite woxic’s “skill and explosive world-class potential” there have been struggles. He describes these challenges as “unreliable high ping” and “compromising time zone” which were demotivating factors for woxic and of course impacted the team.
After just 24 maps with the team, Cloud9 will be looking to add a new player with Erick “Xeppaa” Bach being rumored to be in talks with the organization.
