The Intel Extreme Masters is a circuit closely linked to professional Counter-Strike and organised by ESL The IEMs are in their 13th season and have already seen two events taken place–one in Sydney won by FaZe and Shanghai won by NRG Esports. We already know that the finals of season 13 will take place in Katowice and actually be part of the 14th Valve sponsored CS:GO Major.

For two years now, Oakland has been a stop on the circuit, an event taking place in November. Both times, $300,000 was at stake and it was the Swedes of NiP who won the competition in 2016 and 2017.

This year, however, it seems that things will be different with a change of city for the November stop. According to our sources, Chicago will host an IEM event from November 5 to 12.

Although this is not clear yet, the IEM Chicago event should be part of the Intel Grand Slam. The season could depend on the result of FaZe at DH Stockholm, their last chance to win the Grand Slam, or Astralis which still has some chances to win the million dollars in the coming weeks and months.
