Riot has revealed a whole new set of skins titled “Glitchpop” and they’re pretty rad. The new skinset comes just weeks after the Elderflame set dropped to plenty of both positive and negative feedback.
While the Glitchpop set isn’t quite as animated as the last (dragons! Real dragons!) it is very detailed and features plenty of bright/neon colors.
“Glitchpop was an opportunity for us to make something loud, bold, and more colorful compared to a lot of the other skins we were making, which were more serious and dark,” Chris Stone, Senior Weapons Artists on VALORANT said.
It doesn’t end there though, there’s also weapon interactions that can be experienced upon switching from one to the other.
“We also wanted to give the player more agency when interacting with a skin line by tying the effects and features to common gameplay behaviors. A great example is the 1,3,1,3 (primary, knife, primary, knife) fidget that has been around since Counterstrike 1.6. When a player equips the Glitchpop line, they will see a randomized holographic logo appear on the side projector, and a randomized blade color on the knife,” Stone explained.
Below you can find the official trailer showcasing some of the weapons in action.
