Frederico “atx” Maia, one of the premier Brazilian 1.6 Counter-Strike players of all-time was arrested with two other men by the Homicide Division of Niterói for drug trafficking, according to a report by ESPN Brazil.
Police allegedly found methamphetamine, LSD, hashish, marijuana, and other materials indicating that the house Maia was living in was being used for drug trafficking.
According to a report published on the Rio Globo news network RJ1, two other men also arrested in the raid have been linked to a murder that occurred in Santa Rosa, Niterói, Rio de Janeiro municipality this past Saturday. Details are unclear but it was reported that Gilberto Ranhol Gomes became angry and discharged a weapon towards two friends.
In Counter-Strike, Maia played for teams such as Team AUTHORITY, imbalanced! and Father Gaming, with whom he won the first edition of the Brazil Gaming League of CS 1.6 before moving on to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
In 1.6, Maia competed in some of the major Counter-Strike championships, such as World Cyber Games and the Electronic Sports World Cup. He has also competed in numerous other events as a 1.6 pro.
