The Overwatch League made an announcement on Tuesday that they have revised the regular season and playoff schedules for Stage 2.

When the last day of Stage 1 had five matches in a row where four went the distance in the best of five series, something had to change. The London Spitfire, the eventual winners of Stage 1, played 14 maps in a single day that didn’t end until close to midnight. Additionally, start times for the regular season had teams playing at 4pm on Wednesdays and Fridays and 2pm on Thursdays which precluded a lot of people with full-time jobs from attending those early matches.

Blizzard heard the feedback from the organizations and fans.

The new schedule for Stage 2 has now been changed to the following:

  • Stage Finals move to Sundays at 1 p.m. PST
  • Weekday matches now all start at 4 p.m. PST
  • Saturday matches now start at 1 p.m. PST

From the official Overwatch League web site:

“The Overwatch League prides itself on listening to the community. And we know that having an iterative approach is vital in order to make the league experience as enjoyable as possible for players, teams, and fans. In that spirit, we are making some schedule changes that will take effect in Stage 2, which begins next Wednesday, Feb. 21.

Henceforth the Stage Finals will move to Sunday, separating it from Saturday’s regular-season schedule. This is to help prevent fatigue on the part of players (and fans), and to properly highlight the Stage Finals playoff and championship games. If you’ve already purchased a ticket to the Stage 2 Finals on Saturday, March 24, never fear: if you choose, you will receive a free ticket to Sunday, as well.

We also are standardizing the weekday schedule—matches on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will all kick off at 4 p.m. PST. Additionally, Saturday matches and Stage Finals Sundays will start at 1 p.m. PST.

We look forward to seeing you at Blizzard Arena Los Angeles soon—you can purchase tickets for Stage 2 here. If you can’t make it IRL, be sure to tune in when we return on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 4 p.m. PST. Matches will be broadcast live on and the MLG app,, or the official Overwatch League app.”
