A few weeks ago Ilya ‘Lil’ Ilyuk confirmed that he would be competing in the Dota 2 Pro Circuit once again with a North America organization – and now it has been revealed just who it will be.
A post on Twitter by Dota 2 Maincast has confirmed that that Lil will be joining Jacky ‘EternalEnvy’ Mao and 3 other major names in the scene for the qualifiers to MDL Disneyland. Flying Penguins essentially disbanded just a few days ago with most of the roster leaving EE behind – but he has returned with a brand-new roster featuring players that are largely unexpected, including a reuniting of EE with Pittner ‘bOne7’ Armand.
The brainchild of EE that is Flying Penguins have not had much luck since their inception, apart from a fantastic 3rd/4th place finish at the StarLadder ImbaTV Minor earlier in March. With the team parting ways after this, EE was on the prowl for new talent and he seems to have definitely found it. The new Flying Penguins squad features only one other player from the old squad and three well-known, but amazing faces in the Dota 2 scene. The full new roster is:
- Jacky EternalEnvy’ Mao
- Eric ‘Ryoya’ Dong
- David ‘Moonmeander’ Tan
- Pittner ‘bOne7’ Armand
- Ilya ‘Lil’ Ilyuk
EternalEnvy and Bone7 have not played together since the long-lost days of Kaipa days in 2013, where they the likes of WehSing ‘SingSing’ Yuen. However, the two have been seen together when bone7 coached the formidable Team NP (turned Cloud 9). This reunion is sure to produce an amazing showing, especially with the likes of Lil and Moonmeander on the squad.
The team have since registered for the upcoming MDL Disneyland Paris Major open qualifiers in the North American region, which kicks off tomorrow.
