Most of the team attending The International 2019 are already in Shanghai, China. A few are leaving their bootcamps today and make their way to the biggest tournament of the year.
Mineski have embarked earlier today with destination Shanghai and picked the departing moment to reveal their coach for TI9. Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung announced on his social media that he joined Mineski for TI9 and will be coaching the team through the entire event.
Last year Mineksi had Mushi on their side as well, but in the carry role. However, they placed only 9th-12th at TI8 and post tournament, the Malaysian legend looked for other opportunities. The recently concluded Dota Pro Circuit season was rough for him. He started with Tigers, but the project didn’t get anywhere, he then moved to China and played in the mid lane on a trial period for Team Aster. Unfortunately, that didn’t go too well either. On May 2019, Mushi joined the Malaysian team Geek Fam, but the squad still couldn’t make a successful sprint at the end of the season. At the same time, Mineski were without a coach since the end of June, when Tang “71” Wenyi decided to leave the team, as he felt that his drafts were not up to par. “I’ve left Mineski. Actually, they are all good players, it was me who failed to deliver in my role. Also, my drafting in tournaments has been pretty mediocre. My bad,” said 71 upon his departure. Since then, Mineski changed their carry as well and managed to grab the one regional qualifier slot for The International 2019.

- Nikolay “Nikobaby” Nikolov
