Group C at EPICENTER got underway today and the teams would be fighting for their chance to reach the Upper Bracket playoffs of the event. With a group featuring Virtus.pro and Vici Gaming, it was thought that Forward Gaming and Alliance would struggle – but this was not entirely the case.

After their 2nd place finish at the recent StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor season 2, Alliance came into their opening series with some serious gusto, which was necessary seeing as they were facing VP. While the CIS squad tried everything they could, Alliance looked to be more than equal to the challenge, taking them down and securing a series against Vici Gaming to fight for the first upper bracket spot in the playoffs for Group C.

When it came to VG, Alliance did not seem to have anything left in their tanks – after a brutal first game, which saw them going down 35-11 in just over half an hour, they managed to make a small stand in the next. But, much like in the first game, as soon as VG found themselves with a power spike, they took over everything and destroyed their opponents.

Alliance will now have a rematch against VP later in the day where they will have one last shot at reaching the upper bracket of the EPICENTER Major playoffs.
