Mineski and TNC Will Represent the SEA Scene at DAC 2018

The Dota 2 Asia Championships 2018 main event starts to take shape as the regional qualifiers are slowly coming to an end.

After the Chinese and NA regions found their winners, the closed qualifier rounds for Southeast Asian teams completed as well today.  SEA was offered two qualifier tickets for the $1,000,000 Major event from China and Mineski was the first team to secure a spot. Mineski dropped only one game through their upper bracket run, in the semifinals against Execration. However, a game taken from them in a bo3 setup was not enough to stop their clear dominance over the entire SEA scene this season. Yesterday, February 8, Mineski opened the upper bracket finals series against TNC with a crushing 20 minutes victory on the back of an outstanding Templar Assassin performance from their mid laner Kam “Moon/Nana” Boon Seng. Moon’s exquisite performance continued in game two as well, on Death Prophet, however, and Mineki made quick work of their opponents to claim the first SEA ticket to DAC 2018.

Dropped to the lower bracket finals, TNC Pro Team defeated Fnatic 2-1 earlier today to secure themselves the second and final SEA spot into the main event. Fnatic took the victory in the first game of the bo3 series with a mid-lane Broodmother, however, they crumbled in the next two games to TNC’s heavy tri-core drafts.

DAC 2018 will find their European qualifiers winners today, at 12:00 EST/18:00 CET, when OG will take on the Swedish squad The Final Tribe. Unlike SEA, China and NA regions that were given more than one qualifier spot, the regional qualifiers in Europe, South America and CIS offer just one spot for the main event.

South American qualifiers finals are scheduled for today, February 9, at 18:00 EST/00:00 CET, while the CIS region will be the last to enter the race, tomorrow, February 10.
