The Dota 2 Asia Championships 2018 Major comes only at the beginning of April, but with the regional qualifiers underway as of February 5, two teams have already found their spots in the main event.

The China regional qualifier for DAC 2018 began on February 5 and saw 12 teams split into 2 groups as they battled for the top spot in their respective groups. With 3 total spots available for the China region, teams would need to overcome the rest as only the top spot in each group would receive the initial invites. The final invite for China will come from the remaining teams competing against each other and will be decided tomorrow.

The first 2 China teams to take their place in what will be the third iteration of DAC are Keen Gaming and LGD Gaming, both who took the top honors in their respective groups. Regional qualifiers continue today as 2 SEA spots, 2 North America spots, a CIS spot, an EU spot and a SA slot still remain to be decided. When the dust of the regional qualifiers settle on February 13 all teams who will be heading to Shanghai, China at the end of March will be decided.

With the Dota 2 Asia Championships entering their third year, Valve have complied in making the majestic tournament part of the pro-circuit, giving it Major status – meaning a massive 1500 points will be up for grabs for the teams which excel – alongside the total prizepool of $1,000,000.
