Ninjas in Pyjamas have signed head coach Björn “THREAT” Pers to an additional three years the organization has revealed. Since taking over the role from Faruk “pita” Pita and seeing the departure of legends like Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund and Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg, THREAT has helped the team to several big wins and strong performances against other top level teams.
“I am thrilled that Björn has trusted us with the next three years of his career. He’s one of the most knowledgeable coaches/IGLs in the history of the game, and embodies the values we treasure at NiP,” says Jonas Gundersen, Chief Operating Officer of NiP. “Our vision of building a modern, top tier esports organisation, is centered around providing the best support, empowerment and performance environment for the top tier talent, both coaches and players, and I fully believe that this combination will be the foundation of championship winning teams at Ninjas in Pyjamas for decades to come.”
A former professional player, THREAT coached NiP for the first time from 2016 to 2018. He returned the position as the strategic coach alongside pita before taking over as head coach in January 2020.
“I am super excited to announce that I have signed another three years with NiP,” THREAT said. “Returning to the coach position at the beginning of the year was a tough decision but I believe that with NiP’s new structure and direction we will be able to finally get Sweden back to the top of CS. I want to thank NiP for this opportunity to continue working with my biggest passion
The organization also revealed Danny “mahone” Hsieh as the teams new analyst.
